Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Hall of Fame?  The Hall of Fame is a group of individuals who have been selected and honored because of their contributions to the sport of tennis in Tennessee.

What does being in the Hall of Fame involve?  Membership involves a written nomination process, selection by a committee of the foundation, announcement and media releases, recognition at a statewide event, and inclusion in the permanent display at the Tennessee Sports Hall of Fame located within the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville, Tennessee.

Why do we have a Hall of Fame?  Most sports and many institutions (schools, colleges, organizations) maintain halls of fame as a way of promoting the sport, recognizing excellence, and encouraging others to give back to the sport.  Tennessee has a rich history of excellence in tennis and like the other eight states in the USTA Southern section, Tennessee maintains a hall of fame.
